My Full Circle Moment

IMG_4702 So today, I took a ride with my daughter Victoria to Staten Island. She had a dentist appointment. The office wound up being right by the Oakwood train station. Little did I know it would be a very intense day for me. I am in the process of writing a book about my life. If you know me well you know about it. The chapters are set to addresses because I moved so many times in my childhood and I went to seven schools in 12 years. I know my story is important and I need to tell it. One of the key stories I tell is when my father dropped me off at the Oakwood train station at age 10. On my first day of 5th grade at Our lady Queen of Peace School in New Dorp. Where I would meet my life long friends in half a semester before I switched schools again. I started to walk down the stairs and was suddenly overwhelmed with fear. I had no idea where I was going or really how to get there. So I sat on the steps in my little catholic girl uniform and sobbed. A very kind woman aka an earth angel stopped and asked me what was wrong. “I’m scared” I replied. She figured out where I was going and got me on the right train. Today when I saw these steps I cried once more. This was a pivotal moment in my life, a story I have told and it’s in my book. So today when I realized where I was I knew I needed a picture. A picture of the strong, confident, courageous, brave woman I have become. I would not change a thing about my life or my story. It made me who I am today. I am happy to share it and inspire others. This is just the beginning of my journey. My book will be published late spring 2016. I hope you read it and are moved by my message. “For he will command his angels to protect you wherever you go” -Psalm 91:11
